1. Be 18 years of age or older
2. Have a current valid Missouri Driver's License
3. Have a high school diploma or GED
4. Successfully complete a state certified First Responder course (minimum 40 hours) or equivalent within one year of acceptance to the HSFPD
5. Complete the 36 hour Basic Firefighter course
6. Attend a minimum of 4 hours of department training each month
7. Maintain the Fire Service Code of Ethics and Standards...
A. Be sincerely interested in and dedicated to the job
B. Be loyal to the fire department and to fellow firefighters
C. Be aggressive in the pursuit of all education and training opportunities
D. Guard speech and appearance both on and off duty
